"Great design guides the user to the bliss that is the functionality of the software."
It is my goal to deliver the best user experience possible in the products that we ship. That means a whole lot of testing, debugging, tweaking, polishing, and sacrificing the occasional keyboard to the computer gods.
I bring 10 years of industry experience to the team, a tilt-shift in thinking, and a passion for interactive design. At DigitalAugment, you will often find me doing the following:
Great design means that you, as the user, don't even realize that it's there. A well designed app removes stumbling blocks, discards confusion, and guides the user to the bliss that is the functionality of the software. This is what I love to do.
To achieve a high attention to detail, I go deeper than the surface. That means a combination of experience, testing, and good 'ole fashioned sticking my nose a half an inch from the monitor. I don't mind getting my hands dirty and spending the time it takes to get the job done right.
I'm not all street cred. In fact, I picked up my Bachelor of Arts in Computer Graphics Design way back in 2005. I started my career as a freelance web designer while going to school and have been in the web design/development business ever since. I learned a lot about programming and web development along the way. Building web sites and web applications calls for both left brain and right brain thinking — fortunately my head swings both ways.
I try not to take myself too seriously. I don't know it all — the web is too big for any one man. However, it is that vastness of knowlege that fuels my thirst for new technology, ideas, techniques, and innovation. As the guy responsible for how users interact with our software, it is my promise to use every tool in my belt and push my boundaries to produce a phenomenal experience.
